Join us for the public talk by Elif Batuman, American author, journalist and academic. Elif Batuman has been a staff writer at The New Yorker since 2010. From 2010 to 2013 she lived in Istanbul, Turkey, where she was a writer-in-residence at Koç University.

No one can get enough of the great Flannery O’Connor’s powerful, fearsome, unforgettable Southern Gothic short stories, including us here at AH Lit Club.

We’ll take a look at a few stories published last summer in the New Yorker, discuss your responses to them, and try to discern what, if anything, they might teach us about ourselves and this big blue marble we live on.
