Short Story Club will feature a variety of short stories by American writers, coupled with a discussion about the meaning and language used in the text.
For this session we will discuss "A Jury of Her Peers" by Susan Glaspell.
Susan Glaspell was an American Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, actress, author, and journalist. Today, she is recognized as a pioneering feminist writer and one of America's first important modern, female playwrights. Her short story “A Jury of Her Peers” is an adaptation of her one-act play Trifles, in which two women solve a mystery that the men cannot, uncovering some chilling secrets in the lives of their neighbors.
