Short Story Club

Short Story Club will feature a variety of short stories by American writers, coupled with a discussion about the meaning and language used in the text.

For this session we will discuss "The Greatest Gift" by Philip Van Doren Stern.

Unable to find a publisher for “The Greatest Gift,” Philip Van Doren Stern printed 200 copies of this story and used them as Christmas cards in 1943. From this humble beginning, a classic was born.

You are welcome to read the story here.
