American Studies Club: Myths and Folklore of South Carolina

As home to one of the oldest original colonies in the United States, South Carolina is also home to many historic myths and legends, dating back to the 16th century. This American Studies club session will cover the historical and cultural foundations of some of the greatest folklore legends that exist in South Carolina. If you enjoy learning about unknown stories of American culture, listening to ghost stories, or discussing how culture clashes create new beliefs, then you’ll love participating in this session.

This interactive presentation will be led by America House’s own English language resident, Marie Snider. Marie is a native of South Carolina and she loves to share obscure facts and spooky myths about her home state.

We’ll be streaming this session to our Facebook page. Join us and feel free to ask any questions you have.
