Short Story Club is the perfect place for you to learn more about American culture through its literature, keep your reading list updated, and improve your English at the same time. Talk about multitasking, right?
In each session we will discuss a different short story by an American writer, as well as its meaning and the language used in the text.
On June 29th we will discuss "Rip Van Winkle" by Washington Irving.
"Rip Van Winkle" tells the story of a Dutch-American villager in colonial America named Rip Van Winkle who meets mysterious Dutchmen, imbibes their liquor and falls asleep in the Catskill Mountains.
You are welcome to read the shorter version of this story or a complete one.
