TED English is online dialogues around TED talks! Each 45-minute session will feature a cool and informative TED Talk, coupled with Q & A and discussion about the meaning and language used in the talk. By joining this program you’ll get the opportunity to talk about vocabulary and grammar from the TED talk, react to the topic discussed in the talk, and interact with a huge community of people online through a discussion facilitated by America House’s very own English language Resident!
During this session we will discuss TED Talk by Jose Miguel Sokoloff: How Christmas Lights Helped Guerrillas Put Down Their Guns.

This ad executive from Colombia saw a chance to help guerrilla fighters choose to come home, with smart marketing. He shares how some creative, welcoming messages have helped thousands of guerrillas decide to put down their weapons, and the key insights behind these surprising tactics.
