У 2018 році графік Володимир Гавриш і сценарист Андрій Беницький створили короткий комікс «Blindman» про незрячу людину, яка торкається стіни й відчуває коливання звукових хвиль, що йдуть зсередини, розходячись поверхнею. За сюжетом, через тактильний контакт герой сприймає спочатку гармонійні звуки, потім дисгармонійні (коли сусіди пересувають меблі у помешканні по той бік) й у підсумку доходить до переживання складного звукового простору, де знаходиться місце різним типам звуку. Вперше комікс з’явився як конкурсний проект для міжнародного фестивалю коміксів Fumetto 2018 (Люцерн, Швейцарія) з темою року «Enough» (англ. — Достатньо). На фестивалі робота Гавриша і Беницького потрапила в шорт-лист із десяти проектів фіналістів учасників виставки.
У книжковій версії об’ємне зображення, виконане тисненням на папері, супроводжується поетичними рядками, надрукованими шрифтом Брайля. У виставковій — комікс втілений у чотирьох гіпсових рельєфах і вишивці на довгому шматку тканини, що імітує тонкий шар звукових коливань на стіні. Автори передають сюжет розповіді через матеріал: в просторі експозиції глядач не гортає книгу, а намацує записи на гіпсовій поверхні власною рукою. Гавриш і Беницький виводять на перший план незрячу людину, від початку створюючи умови для легких і проникливих доторків, майже недоступних людині, яка звикла сприймати світ через зримі зображення і тексти.

In 2018, graphic designer Volodymyr Havrysh, and screenwriter Andrii Benetskyi created the short comic called “Blindman” The comic itself is about a blind person who feels the oscillations of sound waves that come from the inside and diverge through the surface by touching the walls. The comic first appeared as a project for the international comics festival Fumetto 2018 (Lucerne, Switzerland). Havrysh’s and Benetskyi’s work appeared to have been selected by the judges and ended up on a short list as one of the ten finalist projects among the members of the exhibition.
A book version of the story has a voluminous image, which was made by the embossing the paper, and it was followed by the poetic lines, that are complete with Braille font. An exhibition version was created just as a comic, and it is incased in four plaster reliefs, and an embroidery on a long piece of fabric, that imitates a thin layer of the sound fluctuations on the wall. By doing so, the authors are telling the plot of the story through the material: while going through the exposition, the viewer is not really flipping the regular pages of a book, but rather is touching the notes on the plaster with one’s own hand. The goal of Havrysh and Benetskyi is to focus on a blind person by creating the convenient environment for easy and astute touches, that are almost impossible for a person, who is used to seeing the world through the images and texts.
