Interested in learning more about U.S. political parties and elections? America House is pleased to host this week’s session of the U.S. Embassy’s American Studies Club. Students and faculty of universities in Kyiv in any department are invited to attend. This week, Matthew Kelly, a Political Officer at the U.S. Embassy, will give a talk on “Political Parties and Legislative Elections."
Matt Kelly is a political officer at the United States Embassy in Kyiv, and he arrived in Ukraine in August of this year after studying Ukrainian for ten months. Matt joined the Foreign Service in 2010, and has served in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bucharest, Romania; and his previous tour was in Kabul, Afghanistan, where he served in the political section. He also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Bulgaria from 2005 to 2007. Matt is originally from Long Island, New York and has a bachelor’s degree in International Business from the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania.
