Brighter Worlds: U.S.-Ukraine discussion on the future of creative education
In today’s cultural environment, how can we support youth on their path to realizing that they are artists, creators, and makers? What should be considered when engaging a young creative audience? How does non-formal creative education provided through arts organizations and museums differ in Ukraine and the United States? The Ukrainian and U.S. youth instructors of the Brighter Worlds project with diverse backgrounds ranging from music to journalism will address all these questions and provide their valuable insight as the future leaders of youth-focused creative education.
Brighter Worlds: Confronting Violence Through Youth-oriented Media is an innovative educational project for Ukrainian and American youth implemented through the Museums Connect grant program, initiated by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, and administered by the American Alliance of Museums. This project is implemented through the partnership between a Ukrainian nonprofit arts foundation IZOLYATSIA. Platform for Cultural Initiatives and AS22O, a nonprofit center for the arts in Providence, Rhode Island. The Brighter Worlds project takes place in Ukraine and the U.S. in radically inclusive creative media workshops to give youth access to professional technology and art to connect them to artists and mentors who support them in building their creative community. Як у сучасному культурному середовищі підтримати молодь на шляху до розуміння, що вони є митцями, творцями, мейкерами? Що cлід мати на увазі при роботі з молодою творчою аудиторією? Як різниться неформальнa креативна освіта, що надається арт інституціями та музеями поза офіційними навчальними установами в Україні та Сполучених Штатах? На всі ці питання дадуть відповіді майбутні лідери креативної освіти для молоді - українські та американські молоді інструктори проекту Brighter Worlds, у кожного з яких різний бекґраунд: від музики до журналістики.
Brighter Worlds: Confronting Violence Through Youth-Oriented Media — це інноваційний освітній проект для молоді України та США, що реалізується в рамках ґрантової програми Museums Connect, яка координується найбільшою музейною організацією у світі — Aмериканським альянсом музеїв та є ініціативою Бюро у справах освіти та культури Державного департаменту СШA. Проект втілюється в життя AS22O, громадської мистецькою ініціативою, що розташована у Провіденсі та фондом ІЗОЛЯЦІЯ в Києві.
