Summary of America House Program
Through the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, IREX administers the America House project, a network of welcoming, dynamic spaces in Kyiv, Odesa and Lviv that foster discussion and debate, provides opportunities for professional and personal skill building, and sparks creativity and collaboration around shared Ukrainian and U.S. values. America House Kyiv offers not only a physical space, but also a virtual hub, which facilitates access to balanced resources and information. Peer-to-peer cultural exchanges, discussions and learning at America House Kyiv provide visitors with a seat in “America’s living room.”
Summary of position
This role will support the management of America House programs, responsible for the development of program work products, including but not limited to program timelines, budgets, reports, and other products as identified. IREX’s America House Kyiv Senior Program Officer will be responsible for managing all programs and activities at America House Kyiv as well as liaison with America House Lviv and America House Odesa programming teams.

Your Background & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Strong intercultural and communications skills.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
Knowledge of youth and cultural organizations.
Demonstrated high attention to details.
Positive attitude and willingness to support and assist colleagues.
Skilled at handling multiple tasks and able to maintain a calm, friendly demeanor under stressful situations.
Experience in people management.
Experience in managing events and handling logistics.
Experience with grants management is a plus.
USG Alumni status and familiarity with the United States is a plus.
Familiarity with political, economic, social, and conflict issues in Ukraine.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Strong command of spoken/written English and Ukrainian.
Ability to handle multiple priorities and complete tasks/projects in accordance with stated deadlines.
Must demonstrate valid proof of unrestricted work authorization in Ukraine.
Your Daily Tasks:
Develop program material, including research and design of strategic events, and ensure proposed activities align with USG priorities.
Monitor and administer day- to-day management of the program activities.
Ensure effective monitoring, evaluation and reporting of program activities.
Design America House English language programming (Speaking Club, Chat Sessions, Book Club, Movie Nights, etc.) in close collaboration with English Language Resident.
Provide input and write program reports, including weekly, quarterly and annual reports and overviews in close collaboration with America House Odesa and America House Lviv teams.
Liaison with America House Odesa and America House Lviv teams on co-designing nation-wide campaigns.
Establish and strengthen local contacts, including partnerships with local NGOs, international organizations, and thought leaders.
Interpret/translate for international guests and speakers at public events.
Facilitate and run selected events at America House.
Revise program budgets.
Draft contracts.
Liaise with America House Kyiv Tech Manager, Communications Manager, Administrative Manager and English Language Resident to make sure the events are well organized.
Supervise America House Program Coordinator and two Program Assistants.
Liaise with America House Odesa and America House Lviv teams on organizing nation-wide campaigns.
Supervise volunteer involvement.
Other duties as assigned.
