Teaching Classical Music & English to Youth Audiences

Familiarize students with the environment and traditions of a concert hall, equip them with fundamental musical vocabulary, and cultivate a lifelong interest in classical music with educational materials and a workshop from The Philadelphia Orchestra (USA.)

The U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, The Philadelphia Orchestra (USA) and America Houses in Kyiv, Lviv and Odesa are offering access to a free virtual concert, lesson plans and an exclusive workshop to music, English-language and all Ukrainian educators interested in learning new approaches to apply in their everyday work.

Join a free 1-hour webinar on April 20th at 19:00 (Kyiv time) led by an education specialist from The Philadelphia Orchestra, to learn all about:

🔹 The Philadelphia Orchestra’s Jane H. Kesson School Concert Program, and its available resources for educators in Ukraine and worldwide.
🔹 How to expose students in grades 1-6 to the exciting and powerful art form of orchestral music.

Participation in the workshop and use of all provided materials is free with pre-registration only.

The workshop will be held in English with simultaneous translation into Ukrainian.

🔹 Link to attend a free virtual workshop on April 20th.
🔹 Access to a free 25-minute virtual School Concert recording in English with Ukrainian captions (available through the month of April.)
🔹 Lesson plans and educational materials in English to use in a variety of educational settings for students of all ages.

More about the virtual school concert:

The virtual School Concert is a recording of a performance from The Philadelphia Orchestra with commentary from Philadelphia Orchestra musicians.The video is 25 minutes long, in English with Ukrainian-language subtitles available.The concert is designed for grades 1–6, though any age can enjoy this vibrant program. Educators who register will be able to access the recording through April 30, 2023, and receive English-language lesson plans related to the concert.
