Short Story Club is the perfect place for you to learn more about American culture through its literature, keep your reading list updated, and improve your English at the same time. Talk about multitasking, right?
In each session we will discuss a different short story by an American writer, as well as its meaning and the language used in the text.
On April 26th we will discuss "The Sound Machine" by Roald Dahl.
The Sound Machine by Roald Dahl is a short, sharp and a frightening story that discusses about the darker and selfish side of human nature. People exploit plants and flowers for their selfish uses and seem to ignore the ‘emotions’ within these living things.
You are welcome to read the story here.
