Partnership Talks: Organ Colossal

What does a sustainable career in music and the arts look like? And how do creative partnerships fit into the picture? During our next “Partnership Talks” Sam Torres and Sophia Subbaya Vastek will share their views on fostering relationships for a better music scene and what it’s like being American musicians these days.

The pair, based in Troy NY, know a few things about how to craft lives full of creativity and connection. They are co-founders of Organ Colossal, a nonprofit that produces and curates musical events to support local musicians, and create and perform music as Tilted Arc, their synth and piano-based electronic duo, among other collaborations.

We’ll be streaming this session to our Facebook page on March 30th at 6:30 PM.

Prepare your questions and join us and for a friendly discussion in which Sam and Sophia will tell us all about their motivations for their community-building activities, what their musical educations prepared them for and what they had to learn on their own, and how they manage their careers and challenges of modern day as creative and life partners.

Sam Torres is a Troy, NY based musician and audio engineer. His music has been performed in concert halls and coffee shops from Baltimore to South Africa.

Sophia Subbaya Vastek is a performer, educator, composer, organizer, and event producer and curator. She dedicates her musical life to cultivating accessible spaces in which shared listening experiences can help build stronger communities.
