Short Story Club is the perfect place for you to learn more about American culture through its literature, keep your reading list updated, and improve your English at the same time. Talk about multitasking, right?
In each session we will discuss a different short story by an American writer, as well as its meaning and the language used in the text.
On March 29th we will discuss "This is Not Who We Are" by Naomi Shihab Nye.
Naomi Shihab Nye is a poet, songwriter, and novelist. Born to an American mother and a Palestinian father, she has traveled the world and refers to herself as a “wandering poet.” In this personal essay, Nye reflects on her relationship with her Arab-American identity.
You are welcome to read the story here. Text provided by CommonLit.
