Leadership Cafe: We Are the Champions

The unconquerable. They have been through combat and injuries. They have been through many challenges and hardships, both physical and mental. But they have all demonstrated a remarkable resilience, strength and courage. Their inner faith, and support from family and friends proved to be stronger than any adverse circumstances. Their sporting achievements demonstrate what the human body and, most importantly, human spirit are capable of.

Join us for our Leadership café event, Meet the Champions, a unique and one of a kind opportunity to meet with the Invictus Games US team members and Warrior Games team members for heartfelt conversation about what has helped them to overcome their challenges and become stronger both physically and spiritually.

You’ll have a chance to meet and talk to:

• Marsha A. Gonzales/ Branch Chief Warrior Care Support, Warrior Care Division, Air Force Personnel Center (AFPC), 2020 Invictus Games and USA Team Manager for wounded;
• Kevin J Greene/ the Invictus Games Team USA;
• Joshua Smith/ Retired Tech Sgt/ Warrior Games (2017, 2018, 2019) and the 2018 Invictus Games;
• Benjamin Seekell/ the Warriors Games 2015 two bronze medals winner, and Invictus Games 2016, one gold and two silver medals winner;
• Brian Williams, competed in the 2015, 2016 Warrior Games and 2016 and 2017 Invictus Games;
• Larry Franklin, the 2013 and 2019 Warrior Games;
• Oleksiy Fedyna, Ukrainian swimmer, Paralympic Champion, winner of 5 gold medals, 2 silver and 1 bronze at Summer Paralympic Games will be joining us as well.

The Invictus Games is an international adaptive multi-sport event, created by Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, in which wounded, injured or sick armed services personnel and their associated veterans take part in nine sports including wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, and indoor rowing.

Warrior Games is an adaptive sports competition for wounded, ill, and injured service members and veterans.

Since the number of spots is limited, please make sure you register.

This event will be in English and Ukrainian.

Make sure you have your passport or driver’s license to enter America House.
