Chat with Chazmin

Come to America House and chat with Chazmin Peters!

Here is some interesting information about her:

Chazmin “Chaz” Peters was born and raised in Olympia, WA. She is a First Officer with Alaska Airlines and the Director of Eagles Aviation Camp. She received her flight training from Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake, WA and her BA from the University of Washington Tacoma. Chaz is a quarter Filipino and a member of the Squaxin Island Tribe in South Puget Sound and has always been focused on exposing, educating, and mentoring fellow members of minority communities within STEM fields.

Chaz began her journey in aviation at the age of thirteen when she had her first ride in a small airplane while attending the Eagles Aviation Camp. The camp provides aviation exposure activities to youth, and specifically to the University of Washington’s Making Connections program. At that time, the camp was run by her stepfather, Millison Fambles, a Captain with Alaska Airlines and an instrumental figure in exposing her to and mentoring her in aviation. Having served as a volunteer at the camp in many capacities, it seemed natural for her to take the reins as Director two years ago.

Chaz is also involved with the Organization of Black Areospace Professional’s Seattle Solo Flight Academy, serves as a Reisbeck Aviation High School Mentor, is a contributor to the Museum of Flight’s Women Fly program, and is a presenter with Alaska Airlines Aviation Day. Through these activities, Chaz’s main focus is helping young people find a successful path to their future careers. She believes that success in a career is not based solely in raw skill or talent, but in pairing efficient and sustainable education programs with competent mentoring and passion.

Chaz currently resides in Tacoma, WA. She spends her free time traveling and officiating women’s flat track roller derby.

Remember to bring your passport or driver's license.
