Teacher Training: Scavenger Hunt

A four-part teacher training workshop

As teachers we first and foremost need to know our students. Their interests, needs, goals, personalities, and learning styles are all of paramount importance for us to know if we are to be of any assistance in helping them improve their English language communication skills. But ultimately we also need to have a good grasp on the parts of speech of the English language if we hope to nurture nuanced understanding and fluent usage of them for our students. In this workshop we will take a closer look at modals, phrasal verbs, vocab strategies, and assessment, and reflect on how our teaching of certain parts of speech can be adapted to satisfy our students holistic learning needs.

Session 7: Scavenger Hunt

Because the scavenger hunt gives our students a chance for collaborative learning with a varied set of tasks, it can help them build classroom rapport, discover their preferred learning styles, and facilitate the development of their English language skills. Join us this week as we too go on the hunt, and reflect on the ways in which we might adapt it to meet the specific needs of our students.

Remember to bring your passport or driver's license.
