A four-part teacher training workshop
As teachers we first and foremost need to know our students. Their interests, needs, goals, personalities, and learning styles are all of paramount importance for us to know if we are to be of any assistance in helping them improve their English language communication skills. But ultimately we also need to have a good grasp on the parts of speech of the English language if we hope to nurture nuanced understanding and fluent usage of them for our students. In this workshop we will take a closer look at modals, phrasal verbs, vocab strategies, and assessment, and reflect on how our teaching of certain parts of speech can be adapted to satisfy our students holistic learning needs.
Session 3: This Could Be Key
Shoulda coulda woulda approaches to modals? No, WILL do approaches to teaching modals! Yes, we’re honing in on modals for this session—discussing and working with various ways of enabling our students to differentiate between and suavely express ability, possibility, permission, request, offers, and suggestions. Might you kindly join us for this one?
Remember to bring your passport or driver's license.
