Chat with Michelle: Military Service

Come to America House and chat with Major Michelle C. O’Brien-Gietka! During the session Michelle will share her personal story and experience as a woman in the American Air Force. After you will be able to ask questions and discuss aspects of the military service. Here is some interesting information about her:

United States Air Force Officer, Major Michelle C. O’Brien-Gietka, is the Security Assistance Officer at the U.S. Office of Defense Cooperation in Kyiv, Ukraine. She oversees the execution of $300 million of security assistance to Ukraine per year for training and equipping of Ukrainian defense forces. She has served in the United States military for 17 years at assignments across the United States and abroad. She serves at this post with her husband Noah, and two daughters, Dahlia and Violet. Previous deployments include a tour at the Combined Air Operation Center, Qatar, where Michelle was Deputy Chief of ISR Operations and responsible for oversight and direction of all airborne reconnaissance operations in the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility.

This chat session will be held as a part of Iron Endurance exhibit opening.
