Chat with Matthew: Baseball, and its impact on American slang

Join us for an exciting informal chat with our special guest Matthew Werner!

Matthew has been in the foreign service for nearly 18 years.  He was in the first class after the merger with USIS.  He is originally from Atlanta, but went to American University in Washington, DC.  His first overseas trip was to the USSR when he was 17; he went on a 3 week exchange program, visiting 8 cities.  In his foreign service career, he has served in Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Washington, Croatia, Georgia, and Romania, as well as Ukraine.  He is married with 3 children.  He is an avid reader of any genre, but he mostly reads history and science.  He loves old movies and watching sports.  Atlanta has multiple professional and collegiate level sports teams that he has followed since he was a child.
For this session, Matthew will be discussing his favorite sport, baseball, and its impact on American slang.

Please remember to bring your passport or driver's license.
